WWE: Top 5 Returns That Would Make Big Improvement

1. Stone Cold Steve Austin

This would be the pinnacle of all returns. The iconic Stone Cold, who retired in 2003, has been discussing a potential return for many years and I believe that one final run is a strong possibility. If reports are to be believed, his neck injuries have healed and could potentially wrestle at the top level again. Austin€™s unpredictability is sorely needed in today€™s WWE, where predictability is a detriment to most stories and characters. If you were watching at the height of the Attitude Era, you€™ll understand what I mean when I say that Raw was unmissable television because you simply didn€™t know what would happen every Monday night. Austin was one of the main catalysts of that and the investment in a Stone Cold return would hopefully bring some of that unpredictability back. Austin does appear every now and then on WWE programming, of course, but nothing would compare to an actual permanent return. The immediate obvious choice for a rival for Austin would be CM Punk. It has been debated as a €˜dream feud€™ for a long time by fans, but ultimately the differences between the two, yet the strong similarities also, make this potential feud seem so enticing. Punk would have so much promo material to choose from against the beer-guzzling Rattlesnake and I€™m sure that the quality of their promos would translate into fantastic matches too. I still believe that there was a reason that CM Punk wore a Stone Cold t-shirt when he delivered his infamous €˜Pipebomb€™ in June 2011 and that was to say not only what type of inspiration he drew from but also to hint at a feud, somewhere down the line.

But the other potential is a feud against WWE€™s current top star, John Cena. This would pose a problem for WWE, as the fans would probably universally hate Cena if he went up against Stone Cold. But, the idea of a match between the two is a WrestleMania main event quality bout and cannot be passed up. It€™s the same feeling you get when you consider that Austin could also have a potential feud with Brock Lesnar, too. It€™s simply too good to pass up.

Austin, it€™s time. We all want to hear that glass shatter again.
