WWE Tough Enough 2015 Winner Sara Lee Released

Did her pregnancy play a factor?

WWE has released Sara Lee from her developmental contract.

Lee was the female winner of last year's Tough Enough series, along with Josh Bredl, and received a $250,000 contract but she never made it to TV (neither has Bredl). The only time we actually ever saw her wrestle was in a quick loss to Alicia Fox on Tough Enough. Meanwhile, Mandy Rose, who was the runner up on the show, is an NXT regular.

The timing of Lee's release is an unfortunate story as she just revealed her pregnancy. She shared that news in a Facebook photo (along with her boyfriend, NXT wrestler Wesley Blake) two days after her departure (above).

Lee is only 24, so maybe she'll find her way back into the company someday. Hopefully her pregnancy didn't play a role in her dismissal though her release certainly isn't the first case of unfortunate timing for a WWE release. The company did release Dawn Marie back in 2005 when she was on maternity leave.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
