Natalya and WWE have entered talks centred on extending the well-tenured star's expiring contract with the promotion, reports Fightful Select.

The outlet states that Natalya's current WWE contract is due to expire within the next few weeks. WWE has now approached the former SmackDown Women's Champion regarding an extension, though there is no word on specific terms.

Natalya had yet to sign the extension at the time of publishing. Currently, she is focused on "keeping all options open", having recently worked on projects outside of WWE. Nattie's current focus includes a potential movie on the Hart family.

A main roster WWE stalwart since her 2008 call-up, Natalya currently splits her time between Raw and NXT, where she has been working alongside prospect Karmen Petrovic opposite Shayna Baszler and Lola Vice. This week's show saw Petrovic and Natalya defeat their rivals, prompting Vice to turn on Baszler.

Fightful states that with many members of WWE's crew in Saudi Arabia for King and Queen of the Ring this week, Natalya has been in New York, representing WWE in Special Olympics and military work.
