WWE Wanted To Bring Back Carlito
Savio Vega revealed company recently made approach for 'Carribbean Cool'.
As part of their bid to stave off newly-minted competition - and encourage lapsed viewers back on board - WWE recently tried to secure the signature of former star Carlito Caribbean Cool.
The news comes courtesy of former WWE man Savio Vega, speaking in a recent interview with Hannibal TV's Jeremy Prophet. According to the Puerto Rican veteran, the two spoke on the phone recently, with the one time Boricua advising Carlito to make some more money whilst he still can.
Other than Vega's comments, there has been no further word emanating from any of the parties involved over a potential deal.
Carlito, the son of WWE Hall of Famer Carlos Colón, graduated from OVW to make his dramatic SmackDown debut in 2004, during which he sensationally defeated John Cena for his United States Championship. The bouffanted heel, who became famous for spitting apple in the face of those he didn't deem 'cool', went on a subsequent run of 14 successful defences, before injury put the brakes on his push.
After a few years spent mired in the midcard, Carlito was released in 2010 following a final violation of the company's Wellness Policy. He has been a regular in his father's WWC since, and has most recently been a part of Nacion Lucha Libre and House of Hardcore.
Carlito's brother Edwin continues to nominally wrestle in WWE as Primo Colón, alongside the pairs' cousin Orlando 'Epico' Colón.
