WWE Week In Review - 5 Things We Learned

2. Mid-Card Movement

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEWoaGBe9U8 Both Raw and Smackdown saw significant developments in some of the mid-card talent. The Shield performed on both shows, and it seems as though they are moving away from heels to something more in-line with antiheroes. Roman Reigns continues to impress, as does Seth Rollins. Both were impressive in their match on Raw against Goldust and Cody, and while Sandow versus Rollins on Smackdown was lackluster, it still had the result of a triple powerbomb, drawing further intrigue into their status. It was also interesting to see them unified during Kane€™s match with the Big Show. Their abandonment will almost certainly draw more of a fan reaction on Raw this Monday when Kane or the Authority addresses it. This is one fascinating storyline that could go a number of ways. The Real Americans continue to evolve toward something resembling a breakup as well. There€™s no doubt in my mind that Cesaro will eventually break free, as he is due a push following consistent quality in the ring. Fans are starting to warm to Cesaro, and the friction between him and Swagger is overwhelmingly apparent. On Raw, Cesaro distracted Swagger, allowing Big E an easy victory, while on Smackdown, further animosity in the form of unscheduled tags allowed Goldust and Cody Rhodes to pick up the win. It€™s obvious this team won€™t last, and the only question left is how and when they will dissolve. Look for them to either face each other in a triple threat match at €˜Mania with Big E, or possibly as a tag team against the Usos (and maybe another team). Either way, they€™ll be broken up after Wrestlemania. Finally, it€™s good to see Ziggler get a clean win against Alberto Del Rio on Smackdown. For whatever reason, Ziggler never got a proper push after winning the Heavyweight Title on the Raw after Wrestlemania last year. He€™s still a fan-favorite among smarter wrestling fans, all of whom appreciate his dedication and in-ring talent. This may not be much, especially since Del Rio is more than likely on his way out, but hopefully it leads to more of a prominent storyline for Ziggler. Quick little note: You can all but guarantee Sheamus will be wrestling Christian at Wrestlemania following their Memphis Street Fight. That was actually a solid match.
