Naomi’s 2020 Royal Rumble return pop was so big that it made the remainder of her run after that tantamount to creative negligence.

They were foolish not to give her the earth then, even more so when her and partner rightfully stood their ground in mid-2021, and would be here if they didn’t go looking for lightning in a bottle once again.

With Sasha Banks’ immediate future in NJPW (and very possibly AEW pending when you read this), Naomi’s current status with WWE is the more mysterious of the two former Women’s Tag Team Champions’. This time last year, she was on their books and barely getting booked. 12 months later and her return would almost scan as a coup.
