WWE WrestleMania 29 Fantasy Booking: 10 Matches That Should Take Place

The Rock © Vs John Cena All hope of this match not happening has now been lost and we will all have to accept that this will happen. The funny thing is that WWE must have known this was going to happen last year so why give that the tag line €œOnce in A lifetime€? It€™s too much of a blatant disregard of your fans intelligence that I hold out hope that maybe this will be a sign for something special to happen. We all know that Cena will win and yes I€™m once again going to talk about turning Cena heel! Has there ever been a better time to do it? Over the past year the entire roster has proven that you don€™t need John on top to make money. The lowest selling PPV of the past year was TLC, the event where CM Punk was injured and was therefore not booked but Cena was in the main event against Dolph Ziggler for his MITB briefcase. Clearly showing WWE that if there is no returning €œlegend€ or CM Punk on the card, John will no longer draw in the crowds at home! He€™s just too stale. The amount of Cena merchandise visibly dwindling in the live crowds is enough to show you that even though he sells a huge percentage, he is no longer the only source of sales and I would argue that if he turns heel, the smarks would eat up any heel Cena Tee€™s on sale because we WANT him to turn, not go away. Do you remember the greatest Wrestlemania ever? Mania X7 where Rock and Austin put on a master class only for the absolutely unthinkable to happen in that Austin turned and sided with McMahan purely because he HAD to have the title? This is the perfect reason for a heel Cena to emerge. He has already said that he has to win and the fact it€™s been almost 2 years since he held any sort of gold is fuel enough storyline wise for him to side with anyone who could give him the advantage or to do anything that would give him the title. The crowd will likely boo if Cena wins clean so why not give them a reason to boo€or even cheer. Cena turning will change the company on its head and my word would it drum up even more interest. What would make it even better is if CM Punk were to help Cena win the title for the sole reason that he believes the belt should be on a full timer, regardless of who that person is. A new era of twin superpowers would emerge and it would benefit everyone and I mean EVERYONE. The Rock is WWE champion to line Vinnie Macs pockets with gold and a clean loss to Cena at Mania will dim his drawing power for the future. If he is screwed out of the title then when he returns once again (which he will folks, he likes the cash money for limited work) he will have a reason and some fire and who knows, we might even get the old Rock back. But let€™s all come to expect the expected because WWE no longer wants to shock or send us in the wrong direction anymore and would rather play it €œsafe€ and simply have Cena win gold on his own terms. I would argue once again that the groan heard around the world would be enough to show WWE that this would end what could be a great Mania with an extremely flat finish.
