4. Cody Rhodes
Another singles wrestler who is currently wrestling as part of a tag team, Cody Rhodes has had previous success in singles competition and could use the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal to propel himself back into singles competition and compete for a title belt. He is a fan favourite, particularly after working with his brother (the eccentric Goldust) and the WWE could use his current popularity and push him into the top tier of the company by winning this match. Rhodes is another wrestler who is technically very gifted. Being a second generation superstar and having the legendary Dusty Rhodes as your father and a wrestling role model always helps to mould your wrestling ability. He has a good range of moves and always has an unpredictable, high flying streak that makes him difficult to wrestle and to predict what he is going to do next. This unpredictability could give him the edge in a competition like this: from diving off the top rope or hitting opponents out of the ring with his springboard Disaster Kick, his moves are designed to hurt and to weaken opponents, ready for elimination. This makes him exciting to watch from a fan perspective. It is hard to believe that Rhodes, who made his WWE debut in back in 2007, is still only 28. Many critics and part of the backstage team at the WWE have always thought he would be a future WWE champion and you could argue that the wrestling company have helped give his wrestling career a slow burn to help build him to the next level. This could be his year to break out from the mid card and overtake some of the older superstars to become one of the faces of the WWE. Lifting the Andre The Giant Memorial Trophy would certainly help.
