8. Cena's Track Record
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfn-bwSS0pA Despite being the main man in WWE for nine, yes nine years now, John Cena's track record for putting over new talent is shocking. To be fair, when Hogan and Stone Cold were on top they barely jobbed either. Hogan only lost cleanly six times in 25 years and Austin lost even less than that following his Wrestlemania 14 championship win. Cena has actually done more than both in terms of putting new talent over. The problem is, he isn't on the same level in terms of universal popularity as either legend during their height. Hell, Austin couldn't turn heel no matter how hard he tried. But I take the point that you don't need to lose to put a guy over. A career enhancing performance against a high caliber superstar can be just as good as a win. If you don't believe me, just watch Hart/Austin from Wrestlemania 13. Stone Cold couldn't have looked any better following that masterpiece, win or loss. The problem is the way he treats his opponents. When The Nexus arrived in 2010 and attacked Cena, they seemed like the most exciting thing to happen in wrestling for a long time. Their momentum was soon halted, as the seven on seven Summerslam tag elimination pitting The Nexus against team WWE ended with John single-handedly beating the newcomers. The Miz's career also never recovered after a humiliating I Quit match loss, and Del Rio has been trapped in mid-card hell ever since his one sided feud with Supercena. This isn't to say that he never puts guys over, just look at Daniel Bryan. But history has shown that for the most part, guys end up coming off worse at the end of a feud with WWE's biggest player.
