1. It Elevates A Star, Who Can Then Trade On The Gimmick For The Next Decade As "The Man Who Ended The Streak"
The Ultimate reason for ending the Undertaker's streak, has to be to pass on the heat and fame of being the man who ended the streak. Beating the Undertaker can absolutely make someone the biggest star in the company. The person who ends the streak will be ending a 21 year reign, they will be getting the title of "Mr. 21 and 1", they could trade on the infamy for years. The person who WWE has end the streak will instantly be elevated to a position where they are perceived as a main eventer. WWE would be foolish not to cash in on this. With few guys getting over nowadays, and meaningful matches being hard to come by, the Undertaker loss is an awesome way to christen the next Steve Austin or Rock. WWE has invested years in this storyline, they absolutely need to cash in the pay off. So, who could it be? It has to be someone with in ring skill and mic skills, someone who will be around for years yet in order to live off the push. Dolph Ziggler could well be that man. He is a Shawn Michaels type performer, who is patiently awaiting his main event push. What better launching ground than a win over the Undertaker at Wrestlemania 30? Perhaps this is why WWE is having Ziggler pay his dues right now in a series of losses and burials. Or maybe it will be one of The Shield members, it was after all these three men who put Taker out of WWE storylines last time he featured. Whatever happens, win or lose, Undertaker's legacy and fame is already sealed. It shouldn't be about looking back, it is about looking forward. Someone has to beat the streak and start a new streak of their own. The Undertaker and his streak will be at Wrestlemania 30, by the time Wrestlemania 31 rolls around, we may be looking at a very different story.
