WWE: WrestleMania 30 Preview Final Thoughts

The day of WrestleMania 30 has finally arrived and anticipation has hit its very hottest point with perfect timing. The late additions of The Rock and Steve Austin completes the most star studded WrestleMania roster ever. Even the CM Punk walkout has bizarrely added to the interest of Mania, with many fans tuning in tonight out of belief he may return. The up-and-down road to WrestleMania has ironically made for more interest in the product than WWE would have found from conventional plans. Would fans have been this passionate and invested in Daniel Bryan if the WWE had gave him the Rumble win? Probably not. All the deliberate and accidental creative has one way or another combined to make a main event we all want to see. This is in spite of what WWE have to accept has been a horrible period of promoting. The Undertaker vs Brock Lesnar match in particular was handled in a terrible fashion. No mention of Lesnar's previous dominance or the UFC stare off, all the build did was a few pose segments which made Lesnar look weak. The use of Cena and Wyatt hasn't been much better. Yet WrestleMania 30 is still an event fans can't wait to see tonight. The reason for this has to be down to Daniel Bryan. He is the guy putting the eyes in front of the product. Everyone is watching to see him triumph for the WWE Championship. The added bonus of intrigue to see what Austin, Hogan, Warrior, Rock and possibly Punk do is also the other big things that have fans talking. It's an embarrassing state of affairs that a guy like Punk who is doing nothing can create more interest than Lesnar vs Undertaker, but that's the way it is. WWE will be happy as long as fans are talking about WrestleMania 30 in any capacity. In previewing the event, the verdict has to be buy the pay-per-view (or watch on the network). The two Bryan matches guarantee you won't regret the purchase. In addition to being fine wrestling contests they will also feature the WrestleMania moment of Bryan becoming the WWE Champion. It will serve as a sweet tonic to what is admittedly a poor undercard. Sitting through the Diva invitational and Battle Royal could be a chore. Even the Shield tag match is the kind of contest you could watch for free on Raw any given Monday. Cena vs Wyatt could be a dark horse as a compelling match, if things go right it could even rival Bryan vs Hunter. It could just as easily be horrible, with the crowd expected to make a mockery of Cena and Wyatt's respective face / heel dynamics. The Taker Lesnar match is suffering from inferior promotion and a predictable result. Still, it will be a great in-ring encounter for what it's worth. Bryan vs Triple H is the undoubted match of the night. One of the finest and most dramatic workers ever against the hottest star of the moment, it has the potential to become the match of the year. The triple threat is a little more gimmicky and is unlikely to rival Wrestlemania 20's Benoit vs Michaels vs Triple H contest, but with Bryan winning the title it's certain to be received positively. Overall, with great matches in the closing stages and plenty of big-name cameos we are in for a treat. WWE have fumbled their way into an event fans are going to love. There's always a chance we see a big swerve or something doesn't click, but it seems a safe bet we the fans get what we want tonight. The big uncertainty is how the WWE Network will cope. If you plan to stream the event, it might be a better decision to buy the pay-per-view just in case. In saying that, surely WWE will have covered their bases, it would be a monumental disaster if the Network was to fail tonight, a low point which would really hurt the platform's future success. In summary, WrestleMania 30 is all about Daniel Bryan. Fans are going to say YES to that.
