WWE WrestleMania 31: 10 Reasons The Undertaker's Match Means Nothing

3. The Match Seems A Bit Forced

When the Streak ended last year, there were sections of the audience who saw it as the perfect opportunity for Bray Wyatt. He was hot property as one of the WWE's most successful creations in years, riding a wave of momentum into WrestleMania season. If the WWE knew the Streak was going to end, why was that honour given to Brock Lesnar, who didn't gain that much from it? Paul Heyman argued that the win gave Lesnar some of his mystique back, an aura he had been lacking for a long time. But that could've been achieved in other ways; for a young star like Wyatt, the rub of ending the Streak would've turned him into an industry star overnight. It seems like WrestleMania 31 is the WWE's response to that, giving Wyatt that chance to get over. But it's too little, too late. The match feels too forced, whereas last year would have felt like the natural step for Wyatt to make alongside his Family.
