WWE WrestleMania 32: 10 Things You May Have Missed

2. Michael Cole's Nod To Mick Foley On Commentary

By far the most memorable spot of the evening belonged to Shane McMahon. During his Hell In A Cell collision against The Undertaker, Shane climbed slowly to the top of the structure, blessed himself, then made the dangerous dive to the announce table below. Crashing through it, 'Taker moved and McMahon took the impact on his own.

Looking to put over the incredible atmosphere the bump created, Michael Cole decided to reference Mick Foley. Back at the 1998 King Of The Ring pay-per-view, Foley - as Mankind - had of course been thrown from the top of the Cell through the commentary desk by Undertaker. On this occasion, Cole's words were, "for the love of Mankind".

This was a subtle nod towards Foley's hellish bumps back in 1998, and it felt like a historic call from the much-maligned announcer. Again, those watching with friends or in public venues may have missed the line, but it only added to the thrill of seeing such a massive stunt.
