Going back to a power struggle angle, we mentioned how it’s probably a bit too soon for some kind of Raw vs. SmackDown feud. But the power struggle doesn’t have to be between brands. The employment of multiple authority figures means that we can easily have ourselves a battle for control within the confines of Raw itself.

Stephanie McMahon, as commissioner of Raw, vs. Mick Foley, the General Manager, would be a logical pay-off to the months of incompetence and brown-nosing that we’ve seen from Mick.

Obviously either party would choose representatives, and a natural choice for Steph would be her real-life husband Triple H. For Mick, meanwhile, recent events would make Sami Zayn a prime candidate and a natural progression in the GM’s recent attempts to ‘motivate’ Zayn.

The resultant match would be an underdog story that could sell itself, while it would also present the chance for the former NXT Champion to get a major rub, or at least go down swinging in the process.

Realistically, but not necessarily rightly, the latter would probably more the more likely outcome.
