One of the night's two matches that won't end up looking like they were originally supposed to, the SmackDown Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Ladder match really could have been a legitimate successor to the iconic tag team ladder matches of 'Mania's glory days. Unfortunately, The Miz's apparent illness has resulted in that match having to be changed - we just don't know how yet.

With rumours of a singles Ladder match instead - between John Morrison and one of the Usos - and less-popular rumours of a triple threat Ladder match - between Morrison, an Uso and one of The New Day - it's hard to know what to expect from this one. And yet, one thing is certain: John Morrison will ensure that it's a classic.

Morrison was one of the WWE's most underappreciated performers throughout his first stint with the company - doing the things that the Jeff Hardy of then and the Seth Rollins of now did without ever getting the credit for it. And some of his most memorable moments came from his Ladder match encounters - both single and tag team offerings.

His WWE return has been decent thus far, though he hasn't really been given a chance to shine in the action department. Now that he's on his own, look for him to finally take that spotlight as he and whichever Uso put on an absolutely show-stopping performance. And if the tag team titles still happen to be on the line, look for him to pull a Kane (circa '02) and steal the show by retaining for him and his partner.

If that happens, it will undoubtedly be the crowning moment of Morrison's WWE return - and one of the finest of his whole career.
