WWE WrestleMania 36: Every Match Star Ratings (Night 1)

8. WWE Women's Tag Team Championship: The Kabuki Warriors vs. Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross

Arguably the least enviable spot of the entire weekend, whoever opened Night 1 of the show was going to have to do something special to distract fans from the sudden reality of the situation. The state of things outside the ring could very easily have taken the focus off that was going on inside it but, credit where it's due, all four women here did an outstanding job in dragging your attention away from the empty seats.

The Kabuki Warriors have been (when WWE remembers they exist) so important to the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles, and they regularly overdeliver in regards to both the time and opponents they're given to work with. Bliss and Cross, to their credit also, looked like a great choice of opponent here as the pair regularly exchanged taunts that both filled the silence and helped progress the match.

Asuka, in particular, is brilliant at this.

In the end, Cross and Bliss outmaneuvered their opponents to set Sane up for a Twisted Bliss and take a relatively surprising win to kick off the show. I don't want to use the phrase "under the circumstances" too much but, if anybody gets extra points for it, it's these four as opening the show was a hell of an ask. In an admittedly uncrowded field, one of the better matches we've seen for these belt.

Result: Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross defeated The Kabuki Warriors via pinfall (15:05)

Star Rating: ⭐⭐⭐
