Arguably the only predictable match on the entire card, Becky Lynch finally defended her championship against Shayna Baszler in a match where the result was as necessary as it was foreseeable. WWE, as ever though, hate it when you've figured stuff out ahead of time so went the exact opposite way.

A surprisingly even contest saw Lynch routinely battle back from Shayna's positions of physical dominance. Brawls to the outside, heads smacked off tables, the pair did their best to paint this as a hard-hitter within the confines of a conventional wrestling match. Inevitably though, this became about both women trying to get their submission hold on.

Just as Shayna finally looked to have locked in the Kirifuda Cluth, Lynch managed to roll through and score the pinfall in a manner utilized by both Kairi Sane and Ember Moon back in NXT. Questions about this being the "wrong" result are for another article but, in the context of this match, it cut the legs out just as it was starting to get seriously interesting. For this to get less time that the match it followed was a travesty.

Result: Becky Lynch defeated Shayna Baszler via pinfall (8:30)

Star Rating: ⭐3/4
