WWE's 10 Best Decisions Of 2015 (So Far)

9. The Dawn Of A New Day

The trip of Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods were first rumored to be placed together in a stable months before it actually happened. There were rumors of them being a new Nation of Domination as well as a fun-loving SuperFriends crew. Unfortunately what we got looked like another one-note stereotypical gimmick that WWE is so adept at creating. The fan response to New Day alternated between harsh and apathetic, and someone finally had the good sense to see the situation for what it was and turn the threesome heel. There were doubts about the turn €“ specifically would perpetual good guy Kofi Kingston be able to adapt to his new role €“ but it didn€™t take long before we all realized that the choice was a perfect one. Their over-the-top positivity is dripping with obnoxious sarcasm and the entire gimmick is very reminiscent of the early days of Rocky Maivia and Randy Orton. The trip became a hot act immediately and mixed it up with some main eventers, drawing some of the loudest heat on the shows in which they appeared. Xavier is especially effective with his ringside heckling, such as the time he told Neville €“ who€™s known as €œThe Man That Gravity Forgot€ €“ that he was €œgoing to call gravity and remind it about you!€ There€™s no reason why these three performers can€™t stay together for an extended period of time and continue to grow their act.
