Does this count? Close enough. Technically it was a "Commitment Ceremony" and not a wedding although they definitely pushed the idea of it being a wedding. There was a proposal in the ring, there were invitations, the ring was decorated like a wedding, there was a minister and the whole point of it was to tease the idea that tag team partners Billy and Chuck were going to commit to each other. The ceremony took place on the September 12, 2002 edition of Smackdown with B&C's eccentric friend Rico and Smackdown GM Stephanie McMahon was also there. When Chuck told Billy that he had captured his heart there was a big "ohhh" from the crowd. Billy even put a ring on Chuck's finger as he asked Chuck to be his tag team partner permanently. There was also an "Our Love Story" video that aired with a romantic tone to it. There was a twist, of course. Before the minister could make the announcement, Billy & Chuck admitted that they weren't gay. They said it was just a publicity stunt created by Rico. That led to the minister taking off his disguise and revealing that it was actually Raw GM Eric Bischoff. He was amazing in that role as this old guy with a creepy voice. After it was revealed that Bischoff was there, it was the cue for the 3 Minute Warning tag team to show up. They destroyed Billy & Chuck. Then they went after Stephanie McMahon with a Samoan Drop. Before they could hit a splash, the Smackdown locker room saved Stephanie from the attackers from Raw. This whole thing was a ploy for Bischoff to attack Stephanie. Great booking.
