WWE's Biggest Booking DISASTER Every Year (1986-2026)

The biz sometimes does this weird thing where success is followed by crushing failure. Win a championship? Get ready to stare at the lights for no reason at all a bunch of times. Pull down Money In The Bank? Well, you don't need victories, do you?!

Damien Sandow represents the worst reminders of MITB failure, and it wasn't even his fault.

The 'Intellectual Saviour Of The (Unwashed) Masses' won 2013's Money In The Bank then seemed poised to assume his position at the top of the card. Or not. Immediately after bagging the case, Sandow lost a whole host of matches and was booked to look like a complete and utter loser who didn't deserve 'World Champ to be' status.

On the 28 October Raw, Damien's fate was sealed when he cashed in on an injured John Cena but still came out on the losing side. His career in WWE wouldn't recover from that public humiliation. Not even a banter-filled sprint as The Miz's stunt double (a role Sandow put his all into) could change things.

He would forever be known as someone who lost the cash prize with a winning lottery ticket. Clearly, someone in WWE lost faith in him, but no-one has ever been quite sure why. Sandow's performances didn't drop, but his stock in the promotion sure did.

Money In The Bank is supposed to be a star-maker, but it did nothing for Damien in 2013. In fact, he hit the skids after winning the bloody thing. Be warned, future MITB'ers.
