A lengthy absence awaits Charlotte Flair following WWE injuries.

Charlotte Flair has been the subject of myriad health updates since suffering a knee injury while competing on WWE SmackDown's 8 December episode - and this is the roughest one of the lot.

PWInsider's Mike Johnson reports that after falling from the top rope in her 8 Dec match with Asuka, Flair suffered a torn ACL, torn MCL, and torn meniscus. As a result, the multi-time Women's Champion is to have surgery as soon as it can be scheduled.

Sources believe Flair also suffered a neck strain in the fall, though this hasn't been confirmed.

Dave Meltzer corroborated the injuries in Sunday's Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online Daily Update column. She is currently listed for a nine-month WWE absence.

WWE itself provided the nine-month recovery window during last Friday's SmackDown, addressing Charlotte's knee injury in the process. The extent of her problems wasn't discussed on the show, beyond the absence.

Flair attempted to land on her feet from a Moonsault while competing against Asuka on 8 Dec. This isn't believed to have caused the injuries, however, with the problems instead arising after Charlotte fell from the top rope during a commercial.
