WWE's Cody Rhodes Almost Formed A Faction With These AEW Stars

You almost saw this faction, headed by Cody Rhodes, on AEW television.

FTR member Dax Harwood has revealed that both he and tag partner Cash Wheeler came very close to forming a faction with current WWE star Cody Rhodes in AEW.

Dax told this story on his podcast, and said that the abandoned group was discussed before FTR created The Pinnacle with MJF and a few other names. He also said that Brock Anderson would've been involved in this stable - FTR and Cody's jobs there would've been to teach Arn's kid and watch him grow as a performer.

Brock would've been akin to an enforcer for the faction before eventually stepping foot into the ring for tag matches himself.

Of course, this didn't happen in the end. FTR formed The Pinnacle, and Rhodes later departed AEW for another stab at WWE life. Meanwhile, Anderson has continued learning from his father and is currently out of the picture on major programming like Dynamite and Rampage.

So, why didn't this group come together? According to Harwood, Cody pretty much nixed it because he didn't want to turn heel at the time. Everyone agreed that they'd have to be bad guys, and that just wasn't going to work for Rhodes.
