WWE's Erik has gone under the knife to "have some hardware removed" for his "cyborg arm," as confirmed on social media.

Erik posted the following to Instagram on Tuesday:-

There is currently no word on how long the Viking Raider will be out for, though the surgery came at the opportune moment for Erik, given his partner Ivar is set to miss an extended period of time having gone under the knife after suffering a cervix injury on a recent episode of Raw. WWE doesn't typically book tag wrestlers when their partner is injured, so there's a chance Erik would have been sitting in catering doing nothing anyway.

The "hardware" removed from Erik's arm may have had something to do with the serious motorcycle accident that almost took his pro-wrestling career in August 2014. This is purely speculative, though.

Already an established tag team as ROH/NJPW's War Machine, The Viking Raiders signed with WWE in January 2018, initially competing as War Raiders in NXT. April 2019 brought their much-derided call up to the main roster as The Viking Experience, while they were still NXT Tag Team Champions. They currently have one Raw Tag Team Title reign to their name.
