WWE's Jack Gallagher Set For Bellator MMA Fight?
Could the 205 Live star be set for a shock career change?
Jack Gallagher currently finds himself trapped on 205 Live's lower tiers, with the English grappler lucky to wrestle more than once a month, though he has made a handful of sojourns to the growing NXT UK brand since the turn of the year.
Now, it looks like the 29-year-old could be set for a shock mixed martial arts return with Bellator.
This is according to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer/Figure 4 Online's Daily Update. He writes that there is some interest in Gallagher from Bellator's side, and while no deal has been made, talks are currently ongoing.
If Jack is allowed to compete for Bellator, it won't be the first time he has fought in a mixed martial arts cage. Gallagher has an undefeated 2-0 record in British amateur MMA, had trained in Brazilian jiu-jitsu for eight years prior to his WWE signing, and is also well-versed in boxing and kickboxing.
On top of this, Gallagher received the bulk of his pro-wrestling training from Billy Robinson, whose gritty, shoot-influenced catch style is transferrable to MMA. If he makes the jump, this won't be another CM Punk scenario, though whether or not WWE will let Jack proceed is debatable.
