WWE repackaged Cody Rhodes under the new gimmick of 'Stardust' at Monday Night Raw this week. This followed the storyline where Cody Rhodes had lost belief in himself, breaking up the Rhodes Brothers tag team in the process, which left Goldust without a tag team partner. On Raw last night we watched as Goldust came to the ring with a new partner, waiting at the top of the ramp to introduce this new star's entrance. Music similar to Goldust's own theme played, the titantron displaying the name 'Stardust'. What then emerged from the curtain was a younger looking Goldust character with a black star painted on to his gold face paint. It was clearly Cody Rhodes. This led to Goldust and Stardust vs Ryback and Curtis Axel, the story of the match being that Cody had got his spark back by reinventing himself as Stardust. On the one hand it turns a serious wrestling character into a novelty act, but at the same time it could be a step up from the non-role Cody had found himself in recently. It gives life to a Goldust / Stardust tag team, with a chance to turn and run Stardust as a heel further down the line. It all seems a world away from Battleground 2013 when Cody came off as the hottest face star of the night after winning a captivating battle against The Shield. The young star looked all set for a massive breakout year, but for some reason WWE gave up on him. Hopefully he can now find new potential as Stardust. What do you think of Stardust?
