'Road Dogg' Brian James suffered a heart attack late Thursday night and has since been hospitalised, according to his wife Tracy James.

Speaking about the WWE Hall of Famer's condition and the tests that were being run on her husband at this time, Tracy James took to Facebook with the following statements:

“I want to thank everyone for the prayers and texts. Brian most likely suffered a heart attack late Thursday night after returning from Orlando. He has had test run and we’re currently waiting for the results. He has also seen a kidney specialist and will have a stress test done.

“He’s always been on (blood pressure) meds for high bp. Just please pray all the test come back for something we can fix. I am a total wreck, but I’m trying so hard to be positive! Please pray for Brian, he feels horrible, and for God to please heal my husband so he can come home! Thank y’all all so much!”

Numerous personalities from within the wrestling community were quick to send messages of support and well wishes to the 'Road Dogg' upon hearing of the worrying news. Former NXT Champion Adam Cole posted a praying hands emoji on Twitter and tagged the WWE legend, and WWE's NXT account tweeted out the words, "Sending along best wishes to our guy @WWERoadDogg. #WeAreNXT".

Tracy James would later offer an update on her husband's condition on Facebook, stating that his kidneys were in fact clear and more tests would now be ran on Monday:

“Just an update. Doc just came in. Kidneys came back clear and a heart cath is scheduled for Monday and they will determine then what’s to be done. Please continue to pray for him and his doctors. And our family. Thank y’all and we love y’all!”

The 51-year-old has worked on and off for WWE since the mid-90s, settling into a role as a backstage producer/writer in 2014. 'Road Dogg' has since written TV for SmackDown for a spell and also taught promo/character work classes in WWE's performance Center.

It goes without saying that everyone here at WhatCulture wishes the WWE legend a speedy recovery!
