WWE's Shotzi Deletes Twitter Account After Days Of Abuse
Shotzi comments on closing Twitter account following WWE Money In The Bank 2022.
WWE's Shotzi has deleted her Twitter account, explaining, via Instagram, that there was more to the decision than the torrents of online abuse she has received since Money In The Bank 2022.
That the SmackDown wrestler had removed herself from Twitter first became apparent on Tuesday afternoon. She has now posted the following to her Instagram story, unpacking the situation:-
I appreciate everyone checking on me but I swear I'm fine. I have been going through the toughest year of my personal life so it's deeper than nasty comments, but also twitter has not helped with my already fragile mind state. Just trying to stay motivated and positive. I am focused on my goals and not what's on the internet.
Shotzi's father, Paul, passed away in January.
A participant in this year's women's Money In The Bank ladder match at the 2 July premium live event, Shotzi was the unfortunate target of mass online harassment after making a couple of noticeable errors while performing. Shotzi's response to the hate mob has since been lost along with the rest of her Twitter account.
Liv Morgan won the aforementioned ladder match, later cashing in her MITB briefcase on Ronda Rousey, becoming SmackDown Women's Champion.
