WWE's Sister Abigail: Everything We Already Know

7. Although We're Not Quite Sure What She Was

It's hard to judge what exactly Sister Abigail was... Whether she's an actual sister in a biological sense, merely a friend or a lover, or even a 'Sister' in a religious sense (nun), is unclear. What is abundantly clear however is that Sister Abigail holds a special place in Wyatt's heart and acted as a mentor. A large proportion of the WWE Universe seem to be sold that Abigal was a nun that took Bray in and raised him as her own after his father died. Michael Cole had very different ideas. During the September 10 edition of RAW in 2013, WWE's lead announcer was quoted as saying the following: "There's Sister Abigail (after he hit his finisher), he named that after his sister, Abigail." By all accounts Cole was wrong here, nothing we could find suggest that Abigail is Bray's biological sister. In fact, Wyatt himself almost confirmed this on an episode of Smackdown when he spoke about his past experiences in life before then saying "When I met her..." That's not something you normally say about your siblings. The possibilities are pretty much endless and leaves a number of avenues open should WWE decide to bring her in front of the camera. Abigail's profile has been confused further by Bray Wyatt's character. When we first met Bray he was depicted as a disturbed bayou dweller who burned his father alive. Then of course we met the cult-like leader whose birth is related to the name of Sister Abigail, and there has even been talk of Abi (I'm allowed to call her that, right?) being an ancient evil possessing Husky Harris's body... Maybe WWE needs to make a definitive call on Bray and what he is before we can really learn more about Sister Abigail.
