12 Things We Learned From Ric Flair On Stone Cold's WWE Network Podcast

9. On The Road, He Saw His Family 7 To 10 Times A Year

During Flair's ascendency in the business, he admits sacrificing a massive amount of time with his family to be on the road, further improving his craft. Austin marvels at his dedication to the business, and the pair talk sadly about how - during his initial run in the 1970s - Flair would only see first wife Leslie, daughter Molly and son David a handful of times a year. Flair admits that he was selfish, but explains that once he realised he had a natural gift for professional wrestling, he was desperate to be the best. He reasons that he could have spent years on the road and only been second best, so decided to put in even more work to raise his profile (undertaking long trips to Japan and Australia) and solidify his status as an all-time great.
