3. WWE Gives Je’Von His Moment

On paper, an argument could easily be made in favor of each of the three men for the Elimination Chamber qualifying match.

Evans’ case centered on the chamber match itself rather than what it signified: Je’Von will likely fly around the ring and that structure to perform some incredible feat, but ultimately eat a pin and be eliminated.

However, Monday night’s win, sending Evans into the chamber match, gave a vibe centered more on the opportunity he had earned rather than anything else. The fact that he pinned the reigning Intercontinental Champion, Dominik Mysterio, to get the spot in the chamber, also spoke volumes: it scanned more as a vote of confidence in Je’Von after a few weeks of being mired in a silly side feud with Los Americanos.

It’s entirely possible that Evans is dancing around the midcard for the next six months, but for one night, in a fun main event, Je’Von felt like he belonged in there with top-tier players while bouncing around the ring and outshining both opponents. Gunther relished battering the two smaller guys, while Dirty Dom picked his spots from the floor throughout.

WWE even managed to protect Gunther by having Dragon Lee cost him the match, advancing their mini-feud as well. Solid stuff.
