6. Short But Energetic Tag Match

If WWE had hacked out those talking head videos, they could have allotted the time spent on them for the tag match pitting Je’Von Evans and Leon Slater against AJ Styles and Dragon Lee.

The NXTNA duo attacked the World Tag Team Champions at the bell and hit them with an aerial blitz, nearly upsetting them just seconds into the match. That set the tone for the remainder of the battle, with Styles and Lee having to keep pace and match their high-octane offense. Evans hit the OG Cutter, and Slater followed with a Swanton 450 splash for a near-fall on Styles, but the champs recovered.

AJ and Evans had a nice recovery after Styles slipped on the top rope while going for a Phenomenal Forearm – Leon covered him quickly for two, then went for a missile dropkick, which AJ turned into a Styles Clash for the win.

If anything, this was a better main roster showcase for Je’Von than his match with Gunther was. Overall, this was too short to be anything truly special, but there was enough here to make a highlight reel and whet fans’ appetite.
