Your New Undisputed WWE Women's Tag-Team Champions Are...
WWE waved goodbye to the NXT Women's Tag straps on SmackDown, but who has all the gold?
...Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler! The MMA-inspired heel duo unified their Women's Tag-Team Titles with the NXT Women's Tag straps on this week's edition of SmackDown by defeating main roster newbies Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn.
Anyone worried about Fyre and Dawn's prospects on the blue brand shouldn't be. They actually dominated the first half of the title unification bout, but eventually fell to twin submissions from Ronda and Shayna to take the loss.
It shouldn't be too difficult for both Scots to bounce back though - they showed a lot of potential throughout the match, and WWE must be pleased with their performance. Being honest though, the former NXT pair were never winning this one.
Eliminating those NXT Women's Tag-Team Titles from the trophy cabinet also makes sense, because things could've got rather messy had WWE continued trying to promote both sets of belts on the same show. Rousey and Baszler now turn their attention back towards Raquel Rodriguez and the returning Liv Morgan.
Ronda and Shayna were the obvious winners on Friday, but that doesn't mean they were the wrong ones. They've become a focal point for the entire division.
