Zelina Vega Returns On WWE SmackDown - Loses In 3 Minutes

WWE brought Zelina Vega back on Friday's SmackDown, but it wasn't a grand return.

Zelina Vega returned to WWE screens on the latest episode of SmackDown.

The comeback queen didn't have a successful night though - Sonya Deville announced Zelina as the latest Money In The Bank 2021 entrant, then Vega jobbed to a complaining Liv Morgan in just three minutes. Morgan had whined that women like Carmella and Zelina were jumping the queue and taking spots she had earned.

PWInsider reports that Vega is back with the company full time and had been "well hidden" backstage on Friday night. It's believed that WWE kept her grand return secret from as many people as possible so fans would react with surprise on Twitter rather than spoiling the moment.

Zelina has been formally added to the women's MITB lineup despite losing to Liv; Morgan is still expected to be part of the match herself. She's now beaten two other entrants in successive weeks, so that'd make sense.

As for Vega, who knows? Her promo was 100% heel, but dropping to such a quick defeat during that first match back is slightly worrying. Fingers crossed she rebounds quickly, because SmackDown's division could use another strong villain.
