Spare a thought for the poor old Invisible Woman. Back when people were still insisting on calling her a Girl, she frequently spent her time in the Fantastic Four comics contending with her husband€™s (and, to be fair, probably Stan Lee€™s) typically sexist sixties view on women, being asked to cook, clean and fix costumes more often than she was called on to help defeat Doctor Doom. After a little while she graduated to being a Woman, her power set increased greatly, and she was finally seen as a valuable member of the team.

Which didn't make Reed Richards, aka Mr Fantastic, aka her husband of several decades, pay any more attention to her. He was more interested in his experiments and inventions. As a particularly drastic attempt to turn his head, she took some scissors to her classic Fantastic Four costume, cutting a 4 out in the chest to expose her cleavage, and swapping the tights out for thigh-high boots and gloves, with a plunging neckline too.

This ended up being her actual costume for a while, which was sort of creepy and not particularly battle-ready. Good thing she has those force fields...
