10 Disastrous Superhero Redesigns
3. Biker Wonder Woman
For decades writers and artists have struggled to figure out what to do with Wonder Woman. Her origin story has changed more times than Gerard Way changes his hair, nobody has quite felt comfortable with the undertones of misandry (and bondage) that were introduced with her original pre-war appearance, and the costume seems to be under constant need of redesign.
Inevitably it reverts back to the classic Lynda Carter get up, but she spent a good portion of the sixties dressed as a mod and solving crimes without her powers. Which was pretty silly, and it soon got fixed, but it wasn't anywhere near as bad as the redesign courtesy of Mike Deodato Jr, whose sense of style was about as developed as his understanding of female anatomy.
As in, not very. Thanks to him, Wonder Woman spent the better part of ten years rocking this weird biker look, with an exposed - and strangely shiny - bra, short shorts (at least they had stars on them!), and little leather boots to match her jacket. It was totally unsuitable for the character and pretty gross, all told.
