The classic Days of Future Past storyline is undoubtedly familiar to any fans of the X-Men, taking place in an alternate future that sees mutants rounded up into internment camps by a futuristic, fascist government after being deemed too dangerous to walk freely.
Sentinels serve as the prison wardens in this timeline, quashing any signs of mutant resistance with brutal force.
Being the stubborn, rage-fuelled guy he is, this doesn't bode too well for Wolverine, who of course attempts to take down one the robots. Gearing up for a fastball special with Colossus, Wolverine leaps at the back of one of the sentinels, only to be met with a blinding energy beam that fries Wolverine instantly, once again reducing him to no more than a pile of shiny bones.
