3. Patrick Wilson Cast In Ant-Man

Edgar Wright's Ant-Man movie has been in the works for so long that I'm still not used to seeing it gearing up for production. Recently Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas were cast in the film as Ant-Man, Rudd of course playing Scott Lang and Douglas playing the original bug-sized Avenger, Hank Pym. Evangelline Lilly is supposedly circling the role of the female lead, and now we know that Watchmen and The Conjuring star Patrick Wilson has been cast in an as-yet unspecified role. Interestingly enough, Wilson was an actor many fans were rooting for to take the lead role in the film, so the fact that he's in it at all is exciting. Many have wondered if he'll actually be playing a younger Hank Pym via flashbacks, which would certainly be interesting. Could it lead to an Ant-Man prequel starring Wilson as Pym in his prime? It would definitely be cool. For now, we'll just have to wait for an official announcement about who he's playing and attempt to keep our imaginations from running too wild. Ant-Man crawls into theaters on July 17, 2015 and is gearing up for production later this year, so we'll know sooner rather than later.
