10 Franchise Reboots That Were Better Than The Original
1. The Dark Knight Trilogy
Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy very well might be the best movie trilogy of all-time and was a huge shift in superhero movies being taken seriously. Batman was born anew for the modern era and is still the benchmark for superhero movies.
Batman has had a topsy-turvy history; the now-laughable Adam West 1960's series was a huge hit back in the day, then Michael Keaton's turn as the Dark Knight blew audiences away with its darker tone, and the subsequent sequels ranged from good to plastic nipples. By the mid 90's, Batman's cache was once again sullied and superheroes deemed goofy kid stuff.
It's worth mentioning that Sam Raimi's Spider-Man and Bryan Singer's X-Men did a great job of re-establishing superheroes for the modern era and making them cool again. However it was Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins in 2005 that really changed the game.
Nolan redefined Batman as a dark, realistic movie with stellar acting and a twisting plot. The 2008 sequel is, to this day, regarded as the greatest superhero movie ever made, and 2011's The Dark Knight Rises ended the trilogy with a thrilling epic. Batman was rebooted to perfection and may never hit those heights again.
