10 MORE Dumbest Decisions In Horror Movies

7. Investigating The Signal - Alien: Covenant

Ever since the first two movie set the standard for their franchise 40 years ago, the Alien films have been making a right mess of their logic with each subsequent release. And since we hit saturation point with the abominable Alien: Covenant, the level of stupid reached an all time high.

After suffering damage to a spaceship destined to populate a new planet, a number of colonists and the ship's own captain are killed. And instead of carrying on with their very serious mission to a planet that has been copiously checked out and rigorously tested to be selected for over 1000 inhabitants to make their homes on, they decide to go check out the one nearby because of a rogue transmission from a hidden planet. It's the space version of 'going to figure out what the spooky noise is.'

Surprisingly, everyone gets all sorts of f*cked up by a terrain they know nothing about, and to make matters worse they wander around without their helmets on just to REALLY make sure they catch something nasty. Shotguns are fired at machinery, curious faces are stuck into eggs, and a whole world of xenomorphs is born from the sheer idiocy of the Covenant crew.

And these are supposed to be scientists...
