10 Most Bad-Ass Batman Movie Moments
10. Batman Returns - Batman '89
Even in the worst Batman films, there's something irresistibly cool about the way Batman makes his entrance - particularly in Batman Forever - but his best, and most important came in 1989 when Michael Keaton announced himself as the new Caped Crusader.
His first appearance under the iconic cowl vanquished the bitter-tasting memories of Adam West's campiness and the difficult production journey that had seen multiple failed attempts to get the Dark Knight to the big screen. And he arrived in stunning style, announcing the era of the "I am Batman" trope in the process.
It wasn't only confirmation that Keaton was perfect for the role, but also that Tim Burton's vision for the character was completely on-point too.
