5. The Twilight Films

The Twilight franchise isn't so much a thing you either love or hate as it is a thing you either love or completely ignore. There's those who love and there's those put off watching it by the stigmas attached to those who love it. But the soundtracks do not deserve to be ignored.

In fact, trying to disregard them altogether is a pretty futile, since they contain such a huge range of genres, from folk to hip-hop, that there's at least a couple of cuts guaranteed to please anyone.

Those who think that the movie have too much of that self-indulgent adolescent moodiness will be surprised by how upbeat the soundtracks can be. Muse's "Supermassive Black Hole" is a sexy slice of space rock, while Ellie Goulding sounds as bright and hopeful as ever on "Bittersweet". And the moodier songs, like Lykke Li's "Possibility" and Reeve Carney's "News for You", are so beautiful, you might begin to see why Bella enjoys brooding so much.

Each soundtrack boasts an undeniably impressive line-up, bringing together some of the finest indie musicians of the 21st Century, some well-known (Florence + the Machine, Muse), others more obscure (the Joy Formidable, the Features). They even manage to rope in members of the NME elite, like St. Vincent and Iron & Wine, and many of the songs can't be found elsewhere.
