11 Things You Learn Rewatching Moonraker

10. It Features The Series' Most Distracting Product Placement

Up to this point in the Bond franchise, the paid product placements have actually been kept fairly vague and subtle - with a few exceptions, especially Bollinger - yet Moonraker doesn't give a toss and shamelessly pimps itself out for that sweet brand moolah.

The movie is absolutely rife with excessive, abundant product placement, from prominent signs for 7-Up, to the frequent appearance of Marlboro cigarettes, and most egregiously, a British Airways sign that one of Hugo Drax's (Michael Lonsdale) goons crashes through.

This is the first Bond film where the shilling is actively distracting. Clearly, given Moonraker's stonking $34 million budget - more than double that of The Spy Who Loved Me - Cubby Broccoli was rather keen to recoup some of his costs back before it even hit cinemas. Gross.
