12 Most Memorable Christmas Songs From The Movies
4. Mean Girls - Jingle Bell Rock
This 2004 comedy was the jewel of Lindsay Lohan's crown, in the sadly brief period when she was better known for her work than her off-camera misbehaviour. With a witty script from Tina Fey, who also co-stars, Mean Girls proved to be the smartest satire on the female high school experience since Heathers (although it's comparatively family friendly).
Not a Christmas movie as such (its events play out over the course of a school year), Mean Girls nevertheless boasts a very memorable festive sequence in which Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chabert don sexy Santa outfits and perform a dance routine to Jingle Bell Rock - which turns into an a cappella rendition following a slapstick technical malfunction.
Naturally some questions may arise about whether or not such a performance is entirely appropriate for a high school talent show (note the wonderfully timed cut to the anguished face of Neil Flynn as Lohan's father when the girls slap their thighs), but there's no denying it's a memorable spectacle.
