12 Things You Learn Rewatching Diamonds Are Forever
10. Mr. Wint & Mr. Kidd Are Even Worse Than You Remember
Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd (Bruce Glover and Putter Smith) are infamous among Bond fans for being the most certifiably bizarre villains in the entire franchise, but going back to revisit this movie, it becomes crystal clear they're also the flat-out worst baddies in the series.
Remembered largely for their elaborate, theatrical assassinations throughout the film - typically accompanied by a cringe-worthy one-liner or two - the movie also not-so-subtly implies that they're a gay couple.
This might've been a forward-thinking feat of inclusion if it didn't depict the pair as such utter weirdos, as was the tradition for any "transgressive" individuals depicted in movies of the period.
Even ignoring all this, the fact that they have several golden opportunities to murder Bond but let their convoluted shenanigans get the better of them, is enough to make them atrocious baddies. It doesn't help that Glover - yes, that's Crispin Glover's dad - and Smith are howlingly wooden in the roles.
