13. Maisie Lockwood Is A Clone - Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
Not merely content to be a deeply stupid film about humanity once again ignoring the good advice of Jeff Goldblum, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom feeds audiences a double scoop of idiotic hilarity with its totally random human clone subplot.
The movie's token child, Maisie Lockwood (Isabella Sermon), is nonchalantly revealed to be the clone of Benjamin Lockwood's (James Cromwell) dead daughter, who he then raises as his granddaughter.
This reveal is made with a shocking lack of fanfare, only to return like a recurring case of gout in the movie's finale, when Maisie decides to release the trapped, dying dinosaurs into the big, wide world because, like her, they're genetically modified.
On one hand it does hopefully mean that Jurassic World 3 will drop any pretence of class and fully lean into the schlock of dinos running wild in the U.S., but if the intent was for it to be taken seriously, this twist falls completely flat.
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
