After all, it introduced Jim Carrey and his hyperactive brand of humour to audiences en masse, as he completely ran away with the movie's demented premise, culminating in the classic "Finkel is Einhorn" revelation. Regardless of what the critics say, its numerous catchphrases ("Alllrighty then", "Like a glove" and so on) and Carrey's ceaselessly energetic physical comedy will live on forever more. Why The Critics Hated It: Much like Sandler, Carrey was a new comic talent who was always going to prove divisive.
