15. Star-Lord Sings To Distract Ronan - Guardians Of The Galaxy
The Moment: Just when Ronan is about to wreck everyone in Xandar, Star-Lord interrupts with a spirited song and dance rendition of The Five Stairsteps' Ooh Child.
A confused Ronan asks what he's doing and he replies, "Distracting you, you big turd blossom", before Drax and Rocket fire at Ronan's warhammer, and Quill leaps for the Orb, which he then uses with the other Guardians to destroy Ronan.
Why It's So Ridiculous: Because it's a totally absurd way to kill the Big Bad, and though it's certainly a pleasant rebuke to the typical action-heavy, CGI-fueled showdown, it also just emphasised how terrible a villain Ronan really was. The movie had so much going for it, but an interesting and threatening baddie it did not.
They got away with it this time, but hopefully Guardians Vol. 2 will actually have a palpable antagonist who can't be fooled so easily.
