5 Actors That Could Play Guy LaPointe In Kevin Smith's Tusk

5. Bruce Willis

Kevin Smith and Bruce Willis have worked together once before in an actor-director capacity: they made a much derided comedy called Cop Out. Despite Smith's initial excitement to direct the megastar after the two shared the screen in Live Free or Die Hard, the working relationship became incredibly strained. Smith has been very open about the difficulties in working with Willis wherever he goes. However, the reason Bruce Willis might be the secret casting is because once upon a time Kevin Smith was a very big fan of Willis. He's praised the Die Hard movies and the Moonlighting television series countless times in the past. The only thing that has soured the fandom is that one working experience. Perhaps now Willis and Smith have made amends and Smith has gone back to being the giddy fan he was before sitting behind the camera for Cop Out. This would explain Smith's excitement and why it would mark a "career highlight" - he would have had his worst Hollywood relationship suddenly rekindled. Willis is also known for matching his mainstream action movies with smaller independent films from writer/directors like Quentin Tarantino, Wes Anderson and Rian Johnson. Since Smith didn't write Cop Out and it wasn't his baby. Perhaps the script to Tusk reminded Willis of why he wanted to work with the director in the first place?
