5 Actors That Could Play Guy LaPointe In Kevin Smith's Tusk
4. Christoph Waltz
Christoph Waltz broke onto the American film scene when he blew audiences away as the "Jew Hunter" in Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds. Since then, he's starred in everything from Django Unchained to The Green Hornet. His recent filmography suggests he's certainly an actor that enjoys the unconventional and working with directors of distinct voice like Roman Polanski, Michel Gondry and Terry Gilliam. Kevin Smith has gushed over movies like Django Unchained in the past and has praised Waltz as a performer. If Quentin Tarantino passed on the part, it's logical that he may have recommended somebody else. If he did so, then Waltz is the ideal candidate, as he's become Tarantino's new favorite actor. Waltz doesn't have a French-Canadian accent, but his Austrian-German accent could probably mask itself pretty well for audiences. Waltz would make sense because he seems to be an actor naturally attracted to films like Tusk and filmmakers like Kevin Smith. It would also seem logical that Tarantino would recommend this guy to his friend and colleague, too. Working with Waltz would also explain Smith's excitement and desire to hold onto the reveal for as long as he can.
