2. Mysterio
In this world of special effects driven movies, who better to play a villain than an outdated and disgruntled SFX wizard? Frustrated that his more practical approach to stunts and effects has become obsolete, Quentin Beck decided to turn his skills to crime instead.
Mysterio’s main MO is to use holograms combined with gases, robots, chemicals, and/or hypnosis to confuse and disorient people (namely Spider-Man) allowing him to easily take them out. His signature is a cloak of mist that would look amazing in 3D, along with all of his other illusions.
Mysterio could turn The Amazing Spider-Man 2 into a psychological thriller rivaling even The Dark Knight, where Peter Parker loses his grasp on reality and begins to doubt whether or not he’s even really Spider-Man.
Suggested Actor: Nathan Fillion
Mysterio is one of Spider-Man’s most theatrical villains and needs to be played by an equally theatrical actor. Fillion is absolutely the man for the job; theatricality is his middle name. Never one to be upstaged, Fillion’s swollen head would fit perfectly in Mysterio’s fish bowl helmet.

Thanks David. I would love to see Venom in the Amazing Spider-Man cinematic universe. It would be a much better fit than in the original trilogy.
One of the big improvements that I saw in the new film was the fight scenes. A Spidey/Venom fight would be epic.
agreed…venom needs to be done right and not with topper grace..maybe a triple h or brock lesnar type build
Channing Tatum is such a lame actor. I vote for Charlie Hunnam as Eddie Brock.
We’ve already had an awesome Spidey/Venom confrontation in the brilliant Spiderman 3. Another would be a waste of a movie unless they were able to bring Carnage, the best Spiderman villain to date into the scene.
There was a brilliant Spiderman 3 and an awesome Spidey/Venom confrontation ? Oops, I think I was busy watching the lame Spiderman 3 and the completely destroyed Venom character, might have missed that one !
I think there was one positive thing about that Venom, and HUGE positive, it’s the costume. Hell I loved the costume they made, and doubt they can ever make one that’s as true to the original as this one. But again, they completely ruined it by putting his mask off in half of his screen time (wich rounds up at something like 10 seconds ?)
Where’s the most obvious choice, the Green Goblin?!?! Norman Osborn was name dropped throughout the entire movie and was described as “very sick” and “dying.” The storyline should be drawn from the Ultimate Spider-Man universe, where Norman injects himself with “Oz” and morphs into the Green Goblin as opposed to wearing a suit and glider, like the one in the Amazing Spider-Man universe.
For the first three Spidey films, please:
-No Mary Jane. The model/actress doesn’t fit well in the sci-fi theme.
-Don’t kill Gwen Stacy in the next movie, killing two Stacies would just be too redundant, even though most fan boys want to stay true to the comics. Wait until at least the third movie.
-Focus on Peter’s progression as Spidey as opposed to his conflict with the villain.
I think they should get away from the idea of a trilogy and do 6 or 7 film series, like Harry Potter. Each film could feature a villain or two that are either killed, captured or get away. Osborn is manipulating things behind the scenes the whole time. The Green Goblin is introduced in the third film (after being teased in the 2nd) and peter loses to him and loses Gwen in the fight. The next three films are the Goblin gathering forces, Mary Jane is introduced, and the final film has some version of the Sinister Six, lead by Goblin/Osborn that Spidey has to lay a smackdown to. I almost think these should be all classic villains like The Vulture, Scorpion, Mysterio, Kraven, etc. As much as a love newer villians like Venom and Carnage, I don’t see how they would fit in. Maybe they could be saved for the inevitable “Spectacular Spider-Man” reboot.
Channing Tatum as Venom? What next? Ben Affleck as Kraven, Hayden Christensen as Electro, Vinnie Jones as Carnage?
Ben Affleck would make a good Kraven, he is actually a great actor. But Gerard Butler or Javier Bardem are both better fits for Kraven
I agree with what @Gobby is trying to say. They should try and base it on a marathon story arc like the Spectacular Spider-man TV Show did.
i want to see carnage..
